Hello All, In light of the upcoming commission meeting, as a Bozeman resident of 20 years, I
would like to encourage you to pass a resolution requiring the wearing of masks in public in
the city of Bozeman. Missoula and Taos have already done this and now it is our turn. Covid
rates are rising sharply and this is one way to reverse the trend. It is doable, it is
enforceable https://www.taosnews.com/stories/mandatory-masks-taos,64598, and it is easy.
Yes, easy. Put on a mask.
To not require masks wearing in public in the city of Bozeman is utterly irresponsible and
endangers the lives of many, including those of us who call our fine city home. What is
happening now is akin to a wildfire running out of control and you have the means to douse
it.
As a university faculty member, I am particularly concerned that MSU is not requiring students
to wear masks on campus unless required to do so by city/county ordinances or on the
directive of the governor. As a friend of mine who is a Physicians Assistant said, "a college
campus is like a cruise ship, but on land." We all know how that story goes.
Given the evidence, it is time the commission stepped up to the plate for Bozeman and our
sustainability as a community. Protect Bozeman- require the wearing of masks while in public!
Thank you for your time.
Best,
Danielle Nicholas
