Hi there. I am a constituent of Bozeman and am concerned with the current budget and allocation of
resources in regards to the police department. I see that there is an 8% increase in the proposed budget
this year for the police department and I urge you to use some of this increase towards hiring peace
keeping officers or school counselors. We need non-violent specialists to tackle issues like welfare checks,
helping the homeless population, and those dealing with mental illness. If you must increase the budget
please use that increase towards hiring non-violent specialists, school counselors to work with law
enforcement, or other social services to benefit our community as a whole.
