I am writing to express my concern with the current controversy regarding our police department and the
taxpayers funds which are allocated to it. I do NOT agree with removing funds from this important branch,
particularly from funds that keep police officers in our schools. I am a mother of 3 children in the Bozeman
School District, and I believe the officers are needed to not only protect our children and teachers, but also
to cultivate a relationship of respect between children and policemen. Respect for others, regardless of
race, is a learned behavior that begins at a young age. I do not believe removing officers or decreasing their
numbers or resources will change these human behaviors. Please consider all the positive these officers are
bringing to our community before voting to change their funding. Thank you.
