Hi Martha,
A traffic impact study is not warranted for the proposed development based upon the trips generation
estimates provided below. Please provide this email chain as the waiver for this code section.

Good morning Griffin,
I'm checking in to see if you had a chance to look over the traffic waiver request information for the
Yellowstone Orthodontics project. We are looking to submit our project soon and would like to have a
confirmation of the waiver for our application.
Thank you,

Good afternoon Griffin,
The estimated peak hour trips generated by the proposed orthodontics office (3,700 square foot building)
are as follow:
Weekday AM Peak Hour = (3.50 trips/1,000 SF) x (3,700 SF) = 13 trips
Weekday PM Peak Hour = (4.27 trips/1,000 SF) x (3,700 SF) = 16 trips
Saturday Peak Hour = (3.63 trips/1,000 SF) x (3,700 SF) = 14 trips
Sunday Peak Hour = (0.40 trips/1,000 SF) x (3,700 SF) = 2 trips
I have attached the referenced charts from the Trip Generation manual from the Institute of Transportation
Engineers for a medical-dental office building. Given this information, would this project be able to receive a
waiver from the TIS requirement?
Thank you,

Hi Martha,
I don’t anticipate a TIS is required but can you send me the estimate for the peak hour trips generated by
the development?
Thanks,

We are starting on a new project in the Bozeman Gateway PUD subdivision for an orthodontics office. The
project is located on lot 4 of block 7 in Phase 3 of the PUD and will be a 3,700 square foot, single-story,
orthodontics office building (with 8 patient chairs). Would this project qualify for a traffic impact study
waiver?
Thank you,
