Thousands of protesters are marching in the streets to demand reform and the Bozeman City
Commission is responding by only conducting a study?
That is adding insult to injury.
What Bozemanites need to realize is that things are broken because awful people chose for itto be this way.
Let me explain.
The fact is, Bozeman, Montana has a fascist city council -- a majority of the city
commissioners have voted to identify as fascists.
In 2014, Chris Mehl, Cyndy Andrus, and I-Ho Pomeroy all voted for a "Get Out of Jail Free"card to retroactively approve the illegal procurement of a Lenco BearCat armored vehicle by
the Bozeman Police Department.
That was a vote for fascism. There was no legitimate public policy defense for having a LencoBearCat -- none -- it can only be explained as a vote for fascism. It was not only fascist, but
illegal. And these evil people still constitute a majority at city hall.
The reason they won't reform is that they like things just the way they are -- because they havefascist tendencies. That's why funding of police has kept increasing without any public policy
justification.
That Bozeman has a city commission supporting fascism is why they have not ended allfunding of and cooperation with the Missouri River Drug Task Force.
That Bozeman has a city commission supporting fascism is why they haven't cut the
ridiculously bloated police budget in half.
That Bozeman has a city commission supporting fascism is why they haven't opened the turretof their armored vehicle and filled it with wet cement as a permanent memorial against
militarized policing.
Instead, they're going to do a study. Just like their failed response to the affordable housingcrisis, they're going to do a study instead of just fixing the problem.
Fascists are awful people, that's just a fact. None of them have the honor necessary to
apologize and resign, because they are undeniably awful people.
They could prove me wrong, but I'll bet they won't.
