Mayor Chris -
My name is Megan. I live in the Figgins district here in Bozeman. I listened in on the Monday
June 8, city commission meeting when you all instructed the city manager to review city policing and
policies to make sure they uphold best practices for things such as training for police and city employees,
the importance of de-escalation policies, strict limits on the use of force, hiring practices, and
accountability. I want to say that I appreciate and support this request.
I am curious how the public can follow along in this process and if there will be opportunity for
public review and comment? I am concerned that the city manager will conduct his review internally and
present a report that will essentially translate as a record of good effort. I know that there was some
conversation about a third party review as well. Can your office help me understand how this process will
be conducted and best avenues to participate and follow along?
