SUBJECT: Accept street and utility easements and authorize the City Manager to sign public street and utility easements in association with the Blackwood Groves Annexation, Application 20020. MEETING DATE: June 15, 2020
AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent RECOMMENDATION: Accept street and utility easements and authorize the City Manager to sign
public street and utility easements in association with the Blackwood Groves Annexation, Application
20020. Execution of the easements is contingent on passage of Resolution 5177.
BACKGROUND: The applicant submitted application 20020 to annex into the City and to apply a zoning classification of REMU, Residential Emphasis Mixed Use, to the subject property. The City
Commission is conducting a public hearing on the application on June 15, 2020. At the public hearing,
they will consider adoption of Resolution 5177 adopting the property. As part of the terms of annexation several street and utility easements were required. This item allows those easement to be completed.
This item applies to:
• Street and utility easement of 10 feet width for South 19th Avenue.
• Street and utility easement of 90 feet width for Blackwood Road.
• Street and utility easement of 90 feet width for S. 19th Avenue.
• Water line easement of 30 feet width for existing water main in S. 11th Avenue alignment.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None determined at this time. ALTERNATIVES: 1) Authorize signature as presented and recommended.
2) Determine that the prior decision to annex was in error and do not accept the
easement. FISCAL EFFECTS: None
