Dear Bozeman City Council,
It is disappointing to hear that after the citizens overwhelmingly passed the park maintenance fees
you are talking about scaling back the levy. We voted to fully fund the maintenance backlog and
expect you to follow our vote. The use of the parks increased dramatically dunging the stay at home
orders and highlighted the importance of parks and maintenance to the city residents. Instead of
walking back the fees, you should be moving ahead with funding a functional and state of the art
outdoor pool for the growing Bozeman population. Bogert Park pool was great when our population
was 20,000, but at this point it is overcrowded and lacking in diving boards and dedicated lap swim
lanes that don’t interfere with general public use. Look at the wonderful outdoor pool Missoula has.
Or Plentywood for that matter. I am tired of the poor me attitude the city council has on funding
important city infrastructure.
And while you are at it you should seriously look a the Bozeman City Police Department and whether
we are utilizing their service in support of the people or against the people.
