Subject: Icon Apartments- Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan Approval
Dear Ms.Juliene Sinclair,
I have reviewed your resubmitted SVWPPP for the Icon Apartments project and am recommending the
permit for approval. In addition,please understand that this is the Montana Department of Environmental
Quality's (MDEQ) General Permit for Stormwater Discharge#MTR100000 (General Permit)and is
subject to their review and inspection at any time. The City of Bozeman's approval does not guarantee
compliance with the General Permit.
A few things to note:
1) Please install all erosion and sediment control measures before ground disturbance activities are
initiated.
2) Please ensure all parties involved with this project are aware of the contents,responsibilities, and scope
of this permit. Often times good permits are submitted,but they are not adequately followed through
with in the field. This often results in a discharge of pollutants to local waterways. Strong
communication is your number one tool to ensure this does not occur.
3) A City stormwater inspection may take place during this project. Inspections will include a document
review and a site tour examining installed erosion and sediment control measures. It is critical that
documents are continually updated, stored onsite, and the content is implemented to avoid violations
being issued by the City.

The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ)acknowledges the receipt of your complete application
package (NOI and SWPPP)to discharge under the January 01, 2018,General Pennit for Stonn Water
Discharges Associated with Construction Activity(SWC-GP)on 11/30/2018. Your authorization number under
the SWC-GP is MTR107637. Please include this number on any correspondence with DEQ regarding this site.
This letter confirms only that a complete NO1 has been received. DEQ does not assess the validity of the
information you provided other than project location as it relates to sage grouse habitat. Your signature on the
NOI certifies that you have read,understand, and are implementing all applicable requirements.
Specifically,the SWC-GP:
• Requires implementation of a Storu Water Pollution Prevention Plan(SWPPP),
• Defines the inspection process,and
• Defines record keeping requirements (refer to Part 2.5 of the General Permit).
The SWC-GP and additional guidance materials can be viewed and downloaded at
http://deq.mt.goN,/Water/WPB/m pdes/stonnwaterconstruetion.
Authorization under the SWC-GP remains in effect until you submit a complete Notice of Ternination (NOT).
Your signature on the NOT certifies that you have achieved final stabilization.removed your temporary Best
Management Practices, and have paid all applicable fees. All effective authorizations are assessed annual fees
each calendar year wrtil a complete NOT is received.
Coverage under the SWC-GP does not waive your obligation to obtain coverage under other applicable permits.
