Subject: concern regarding retention pond work being done NOW
Hi
Per our conversation I’m very concerned regarding the massive Cottonwood trees being completely cut down that
surround the area of the retention pond in the Meadow Creek subdivision on 30th Avenue. The trees are 30+ foot
in height. They are not in the pond. Based on the age of the subdivision and the height of the trees, the trees had to
have been there prior to the pond being constructed.
I am against the trees being cut. Bozeman’s storm water retention pond policy has no mention of “trees”.
Additionally, this work should be done in the fall when it has the least impact to wildlife.
Unfortunately, the work has begun and is continuing as I take the time to write this email. If possible I’d like you
and your colleagues to intervene to stop the work and an agreement can be made between the city and the
subdivision that is adjacent to the pond.
Please feel free to contact me 406.404.6463.
