The house next door to us, in which we lived for ten years previously, will bedemolished on June 15. We are not trying to stop that from happening, as it is out of our control. That said, it is areal shame in so many ways. For one, it is a really special structure, one that many people in the neighborhood loveand see as a landmark. It is not a teardown. In its place will be a multi million dollar home that maximizes setbackson all edges. The people who bought the house are very nice people, and they are having Habitat for Humanitysalvage everything that is re-usable. Would you be willing to stop by here today or tomorrow, if you can spare a few minutes, to look at what is beingtorn down? The reason is for future discussion. If we really believe in combating climate change, providingaffordable housing, and maintaining neighborhood character in Bozeman, we need to include in the discussion whenit’s acceptable for a home to be demolished and replaced — and when perhaps it’s not? Also part of the teardown isa 100-year-old juniper, a mature box elder, and an amazing lilac hedge. Cyndy I believe you’ve been there before — 702 E. Peach — when I had a holiday art open house in years past. I’mnot sure you’ve ever been inside, Chris? If you have a few minutes to spare, please text me and I will join you. Thank you very much for your consideration —Amy Amy Kelley Hoitsma406-581-1513aok@mcn.net<mailto:aok@mcn.net> aokworks.com<http://aokworks.com>
