Hello commissioners, My name is Ursula Neese I have lived in Montana since the early 70’s and most of that in
Bozeman. I’m writing this letter with my concerns for the logging that is going to happen in the upper leverich,
upper Kirk hill and upper Hodgman canyon. I believe the Custer Gallatin forest is using the terms Bozeman
Watershed Project as the reason for this logging will take place in these areas. A road from Moser creek Hyalite
drainage side will be put in and heavy equipment will be used to rip the trees from these beautiful Douglas Fir
Forest. These drainages are not part of the Bozeman water shed, the so called mitigation of the trees does not help
with the fire suppression that would cause drainage problems to the Bozeman water if a fire were to occur. These
trails that have been a part of Bozeman’s history for more than 50 years and now are used by hundreds of people
should not be destroyed for a few trees that will ruin these special places for years in the future. The marking on the
tree’s that has already been done is a true sign of the graffiti of the government at it’s worst. So why is this
happening? Please go take a walk up Kirk hill see for your selves. Ursula Neese
