I am writing to soundly support hiring Jeff Mihelich at Bozeman City Manager. I had the opportunity to
observe Mr. Mihelich and work with him and his team a year ago when I facilitated the City of Fort Collins
Cultural Plan. He is, in my opinion, both thoughtful and decisive. He understands the intersections of an
economy that is entrepreneurial and tech-oriented; environmental and stewardship oriented; with a major
university and academic community; and that thrives through creativity, a shared community culture, and
the arts. Based on my observation, he is a solid team builder who brings out the best in those who work
with him in City Hall and the elected officials who set policy. His work helped lead Fort Collins to win the
Baldridge Award which very few city governments in the country have won, and to winning honors for
safety, as a great place to raise a family, and as a top place for creatives to live and work. He supports and
furthers the role of the arts as central to community economic development. He brings this context to
Bozeman.
For over 35 years I have work with city managers all over the country. In my mind, Mr. Mihelich represents
the best in the field. Bozeman would be extremely fortunate to have him. . - Louise K Stevens
