Since the shelter in place order, I've been walking the trails in the northwest of town. Along the way I've
noticed several places where homeless people spend the night. It appears they are being equipped with
blankets, sleeping bags, etc, then they are just abandoning that equipment. If that is the case, then this may
not be money well spent. The equipment costs money, and then when it has to be cleaned up that costs
money too.
I don't know of a good solution to this problem unless it is providing more shelter for the homeless, or
designated camping areas. Giving away equipment does not seem to be a good long-term solution.
