Hello,
My name is Greer Trefethen and I am a Bozeman native writing to express my support of the
Armory Hotel project during this period of Public comment on Application #19410.
I was very disheartened to hear of another delay in the finalization of the Armory Hotelproject. I wrote to express my support back in February and I know many others who did as
well. Unfortunately, reading the article in the Chronicle on April 5 and watching this processunfold leaves myself and many other citizens I know feeling like the city is not listening at all
during these periods of "public comment".
The Armory Hotel development team have worked tirelessly for many years with the city andthe local community to build a hotel that will stimulate economic growth in Bozeman, provide
more opportunities to experience the best our town has to offer, and employ hundreds ofpeople year over year. In these times of economic and social upheaval, this project serves to
encourage a narrative of progress and hope for the many citizens of Gallatin county affectedby COVID-19. As we all work to be safe during this time, Cory Lawrence's concerns for
public safety and the impacts the request of this appeal could have years down the line isextremely important to consider. While it is not Mr. Lawrence's fault that the city has not
maintained consistency in its approval process since 2015, he has done everything in hispower to proactively meet any and all concerns brought to his attention and resolve them with
the best interest of Bozeman in mind.
When considering the future of the Armory Hotel, please bear in mind the support this projecthas had from community members in the past and continues to have today, the economic and
social benefits it will bring in the future, and the gravity with which all concerns have beendealt with by Mr. Lawrence.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I will be tuning in to the Webex meeting tonight to
see how this is resolved.
Sincerely, Greer Trefethen
