Site Visitor Name: PhilSite Visitor Email: Pkbozeman2536@gmail.com Thank you Mr. Mehl for hearing my opinion. I truly appreciate the serious steps you are taking in fighting theCOVID-19 pandemic. However, I am worried that all commercial construction projects are exempt from the newlyreleased 'Decree to Stay Home'. I work on large commercial construction projects here in Bozeman, and I can tellyou that abiding by the social distancing guidelines is not possible. Jobsites are dirty, and require workers to bewithin close proximity, sharing tools and restrooms. We have the intention to manage social distancing however Ihave seen what a difficult to impossible task it is.Building luxury condos and hotels certainly does not feel essential during this time. I believe that keeping normalconstruction projects open during this epidemic is a major risk to our workers, the general public, and our localhealthcare system. To exacerbate the problem, corporate offices are trying to bring in workers from other stateswhere they have imposed more strict shut-downs on construction. I believe that this is another major issue ofimporting more potential COVID-19 into our great State. I do not want my projects to be shut down, as this willaffect my job and my family, however in these unprecedented times, I believe my projects NEED to be shut-down.The CEO's and owners on construction projects will continue to run workers on the front lines at whatever lengthspossible - unless they are forced to close. I believe that this should not be allowed on most general construction sites.I would appreciate your consideration to work towards the shutdown of all commercial construction sites unless theyare truly 'essential' to fighting this pandemic.Thank you for your time.
