Thank you also for your kind words and we understand about Monday night and have done our best to let people know far and wide about the change in plans. And look forward to a timewhen we all can be healthy and gather in person to publicly thank and further encourage the city and our supporters to continue the empowerment of women, girls and the men who loveus to achieve equity, diversity and inclusion for all. Thanks for your tireless leadership on these issues and working with so many in our community to make it a better place. Thanks also for your patience as we collectively work our way through the COVID crisis. While we'll have limited in-person participation on Monday to mark Equal Pay Day, I thought it important to go ahead with the Proclamation and observance now AND thenrepeat ourselves later this year to reach out to the public, set an example and educate. It's not ideal, obviously, but we move forward. Looking forward to Monday and better days ahead for gender equity, empowerment andfairness. I enjoyed all of your column and this paragraph especially stood out, bravo: "Fairness, equity and inclusion are critically important values for our community thatencourages all to thrive in the diversity of experiences and backgrounds that populate our city. Our society as a whole, including men and boys, benefit from equality amongst allraces and between people of all genders. Communities function most efficiently and supportively when we treat one another fairly and with respect. Collaborative workbetween diverse groups of people with different perspectives and ideas leads to decisions that are inclusive, embraced, understood by all, particularly when we are facing health andother crises."
