Hello Tom: I am the owner of the parking lot & office building located directly north of this
proposed restaurant. I have reviewed the whole application on your website and am concerned that
3 parking spots is not adequate for the two businesses and Air B&B located there.
To renovate my office and get my COO I had to make sure I had 5 parking places (including 1
Handicap), and ample back out space for each of those spots. If I noticed correctly this applicant has
only 3 spots for the law firm, restaurant and Air B&B, and no extra space for circulation or ADA
(which I think was able to use the county court house spaces for that purpose). I can only assume
that my lot will be used for their parking. I am not sure of the restaurant hours but worry if they are
after my normal office business hours, extra traffic will be added security risk to my lot and building.
I assume these owners are well qualified to plan something per the code & standards, but why do
these rules seem so different from the ones I had to abide by when I was placing my business here?
How can I safeguard my property from their lack of parking?
I also own a property at 321 West Mendenhall Street and had a shed torn down that was right
against the alley lot line because I thought it was a safety hazard. Did I make a mistake because that
could have been used to build right against the alley like this project is doing?
