Commission Memorandum
REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Brian Heaston, Senior Engineer Mitch Reister, Director of Public Works
SUBJECT: Authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 3 to Task Order No. 2 of the Professional Services Master Task Order Agreement with the firm of AE2S, Inc. providing on-call professional engineering services for Instrumentation & Control Systems.
MEETING DATE: March 23, 2020
AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 3 to Task
Order No. 2 of the Professional Services Master Task Order Agreement with the firm of AE2S,
Inc. providing on-call professional engineering services for Instrumentation & Control Systems.
BACKGROUND: AE2S, Inc. provides professional engineering services on an on-call basis for
the Bozeman Water Treatment Plant facility (WTP) under a Master Task Order Agreement entered into on April 24, 2017. Amendment No. 3 to Task Order No. 2 attached provides professional engineering services for instrumentation and controls (I&C) systems throughout various divisions of the City Public Works Department. I&C systems are critical operating elements of the City’s water treatment, water reclamation and water/sewer operations divisions
that provide for supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) that allow for automated and remote operations of mechanical systems. Services will be provided on an as needed and requested basis by the City’s recently hired SCADA Manager, Zeb Breuckman, should he require assistance in the prosecution of duties required under the responsibilities of his position. FISCAL EFFECTS: The approved FY20 operating budgets of the water treatment plant, water reclamation facility, and water/sewer operations divisions provide for contracted services. Amendment No. 3 to Task Order No. 2 contains a fee not to exceed $10,000 to complete to be billed on a Time & Materials basis. Sufficient monies are available within operating budgets to cover costs that may arise under this task order amendment.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the Commission. ATTACHMENTS: Amendment No. 3 to Task Order 2 Hyperlinked: Professional Services Master Task Order Agreement
