RESOLUTION 5136---- MEADOW CREEK SUBDIVISION
COMMISIONERS:
This letter is in protest to the proposal to modify lighting in the Meadow Creek
Subdivision. We live at 3253 South 26t"Avenue and see no need for harsh lights glaring
down all night long. Our streets are mostly two blocks long and used primarily by
residential traffic. Twenty Seventh Avenue which is the major artery into and through
our subdivision has more than adequate lighting. Local newspapers indicate
commissioners support climate control and the reduction of carbon dioxide in the
atmosphere. Our city electricity is primarily coal generated which, as we all know, is the
major source carbon dioxide. Night lighting is certainly necessary in most areas of the
city but maybe the Commission should be more concerned about locations where
lighting reductions could be made.
