Application 19410 Dear Mr. Krueger, I am writing in response to the notice of a modification to approved plan application for this project at 24 W. Mendenhall Street. In general I am still in support of having more hotel space in Bozeman and the project to modify the existing armory made sense from a preservation standpoint also. However, I do NOT support the application to add an additional floor for the following reasons: 1. From site character criteria in relation to surroundings in the Code the original design already stretched to the limits the heights of buildings in Bozeman. And the developers had plenty of opportunity to include this in their original application. To tack on an extra floor at this time is not appropriate. 2. From bth the site character and the public safety criteria in the Code this will also stretch the already very limited parking in the area. And more cars and drivers searching for spaces could create safety risks for pedestrians and cyclist. 3. I have some work experience in project management and this kind of addition cannot normally be safely undertaken without having been planned from the very beginning in order to design sufficient infrastructure to support an additional floor. I sense that this late application is possibly just a means of the developers attempting to gain approval in the later stages of the project that they should have sought from the very beginning. Thanks for the opportunity to comment. Thomas and Mary Mitro 5 West Mendenhall St Unit 412
