Dear City Of Bozeman,
I would like to voice my support for the Etha Hotel project. I have lived here over 30 years and have seen
some good and not-so-good development. I would put the Etha in the "very good" category. It's wonderful
that they have been able to preserve and re-purpose the historic Bozeman Armory. The new building is
aesthetically pleasing and reflects many of the designs seen in the Armory and the era when the Armory
was built. It's a classic looking building and I truly believe it will stand the test of time (as compared to some
of the more "Stalin-isk" structures in that area that have been approved in our fast growing community. )
It is disconcerting to hear from the Chronicle and other sources that the City has made some considerable
screw-ups in the building process, and denied changes to windows, lighting, and exterior that were very
similar to the original 2015 Etha Project plan. It leaves so many wondering why the poor quality Andy
Hollaran projects are approved and projects like this are given such a hard time. (It does give the impression
that wealthier, pushier developers have more clout with the City.) Please consider letting the Etha move
forward with the changes they need. Bozeman needs good thoughtful project and developers like this.
