Hert - Armory Hotel Project Application 19410From: Elin Hert To: Agenda; Brian Krueger Subject: Comments Regarding Application 19410 - The Armory Project Date: Friday, February 21, 2020 7:53:13 AM To the City Commissioners and Brian Krueger: Having worked for Cory Lawrence for over 15 years at Off the Beaten Path, I wanted to share my insight into the Armory Project and the character and intentions of Cory and his development team. Cory comes from the small town of Buffalo, Wyoming, where he has a long family history. His character reflects his small western town values - honesty, relationships, hard work, resourcefulness, and integrity. At Off the Beaten Path, Cory has proven himself to be a combination of passionate about and staying on course with the company's mission - Changing People's Lives through Exceptional Travel - while growing the company in a steady, fiscally responsible way. Over the years, since the Armory project was nothing more than an idea, Cory has had a vision and been authentically excited for it to come to fruition. He has done a great job of supporting local businesses, going so far as to share much of the history of these businesses with his friends and colleagues. He has used local and regional laborers, construction companies, artists, musicians, consultants, and more. One thing Cory has spoken a lot about from the start is his interest in making the hotel a community gathering place. With a commitment to quality, Cory and the development team have also always maintained their commitment to a fiscally sound project. I could go on and on about how much passion, blood, sweat, and tears Cory and his development team have put into this project. They have been so, so thoughtful. I believe that Cory enjoys nothing more than connecting with people and developing relationships. He is a wonderful person who has acted responsibly and by the book. I hope that the city will note and honor that and grant him the changes that he has proposed. Sincerely, Elin Hert 216 S. 10th Ave Bozeman, Montana, 59715
