I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed downtown parking district. I do not think that
property owners ought to be forced to pay to park in front of their own property. Their taxes already
contribute to the upkeep of the streets. The recent construction of several multi-story buildings in the
downtown has put pressure on parking and the City, which approved those developments without
requiring adequate parking as part of the plans, should develop ways to address the situation without
punishing neighbors.
