SUBJECT: Confirming the Change of Commission Assignment to the Pedestrian and
Traffic Safety Committee
MEETING DATE: February 10, 2020
AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent
RECOMMENDATION: Confirm the change of Commissioner assignment to the Pedestrian
and Traffic Safety Committee from Commissioner Terry Cunningham to Commissioner Michael
Wallner.
STRATEGIC PLAN: 1.2 Community Engagement. Broaden and deepen engagement of the
community in city government, innovating methods for inviting input from the community and
stakeholders. c) Create a Standard Boards and Commission Onboarding and Education Process.
BACKGROUND: Commissioners did discuss and decide upon appointments and assignments of
the Mayor and Commissioners to voting board positions and to act as liaisons to City citizen
advisory boards and commissions in open session of a regularly scheduled and noticed
Commission Meeting held on January 27, 2020. Commissioner Cunningham was assigned to the
Pedestrian and Traffic Safety Committee and the Commission did move and vote unanimously to
approve the assignment. Due to scheduling concerns Commissioner Cunningham and
Commissioner Wallner came to the agreement that Commissioner Wallner would take the
assignment.
ALTERNATIVES: As directed by the Commission.
