Rogers - Wagonwheel Road AnnexationFrom:Brianne Rogers To:Agenda Cc:Chris Mehl; Michael Wallner Subject:Public comment: cohousing annexation Date:Monday, February 3, 2020 9:51:29 AM Bozeman City Commissioners,Being born and raised (1983-2005) two blocks from Doc’s farmstead and now living two houses in from the property (2009-present), I deeply appreciate the residential sense of placeand close knit community in this portion of south Bozeman. I appreciate the interest of the City to annex in old county in-holdings. As you consider the cohousing proposal before you, please think of the traffic impacts that will be caused by the increase of a one-family residential lot to a 10-40 family lot. Design oftraffic flow into this lot could create a lot of headaches for folks whose main artery is via Wagon Wheel and I hope you pressure test any proposals that come before you so that thesafety of our well-established, family-centered community isn’t threatened. As we have seen in other cohousing communities across the country, the best intentions often fall victim over time to original members leaving, divorce, etc. As the City considers this newhousing type, please take time to protect your existing neighborhoods and citizens who have invested decades of work, property taxes, and their life savings in their homes and maintainingthe character of their neighborhoods through homeowners associations, volunteerism, and neighborliness.
