Holloran - Etha HotelFrom: Andy Holloran To: Agenda Subject: Etha Design Concerns Date: Thursday, January 23, 2020 5:09:26 PM To Whom it May Concern: My name is Andy Holloran and I am the developer and resident of 5 West, located directly north of the Etha project. I am writing to request clarification on a number of design elements of the project that appear to differ from the approved set of plans and DRB( if these design changes have been noticed and approved, please provide documentation). Windows: The existing windows are simulated divided light and appear different than those approved Second floor pool: The approved plans include a pool and amenity deck on the second level, facing Mendenhall. Current building has multiple large air conditioning units in place of an amenity. Stucco: The approved plans indicate a smooth finish and the in place application is a rough finish texture. 9th floor: It is difficult to determine if the existing upper floor design matches the approved plans, but from my unit, it appears different. As the developer of 5 West, it was important to disclose to our Buyers, Tenants, Lender and Partner’s the fact that the Etha Hotel would be developed. It was also important to convey to these folks the approved plans for the Etha, so each would have a clear understanding of what could and would be developed across the street. Given the major deviation of design from what was approved, it is very concerning as a resident and more importantly as the developer/owner of the 5 West project. 5 West includes 42 residential units and almost 40,000 sf of commercial space, many of these Buyers and Tenants look directly at the Etha. It is criticaI I have documentation from the City that approves these design alterations from the original design so I can defend myself, our Partners and Lender to the backlash from the 5 West Buyers and Tenants. I cannot underestimate how concerned I am. Thank you for your attention on this important issue and I look forward to receiving documentation approving the current design.
