GENERAL NOTES 1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MINIMIZE INTERFERENCE WITH ADJOINING STREETS, SIDEWALKS, PARKING AREAS, AND OTHER ADJACENT OCCUPIED OR USED FACILITIES DURING CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT BLOCK STREETS, SIDEWALKS, OR ACCESS TO DUMPSTER LOCATIONS AT ANY TIME. 2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT EXISTING SITE IMPROVEMENTS AND LANDSCAPING FROM DAMAGE CAUSED BY CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE EXISTING SITE IMPROVEMENTS AND LANDSCAPING DAMAGED BY CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS AS DIRECTED BY THE ARCHITECT PRIOR TO SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION. 3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT EXISTING BUILDINGS FROM DAMAGE, CONTAMINATION, AND SOILING CAUSED BY CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL KEEP BUILDING ENTRANCES, CORRIDORS, AND STAIRWELLS CLEAR OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT AT ALL TIMES, EXCEPT AS TEMPORARILY REQUIRED WHILE THOSE SPACES ARE BEING WORKED ON. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE EXISTING BUILDINGS DAMAGED BY CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS AS DIRECTED BY THE ARCHITECT PRIOR TO SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION. 4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ACCESS THE SITE FROM THE OLIVE STREET ENTRANCE AND MAY UTILIZE THE PARKING AREA ALONG OLIVE FOR PARKING AND LIMITED STAGING. THE OLIVE (NORTH) ENTRANCE WILL BE DEDICATED TO THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR FOR WORK ACTIVITY, WHILE THE SOUTH ENTRANCE AND ELEVATOR WILL REMAIN ACCESSIBLE TO BUILDING OCCUPANTS AND THE PUBLIC. THE TWO EMERGENCY EXITS ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE BUILDING, THE EXTERIOR AREA IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT AND THE INTERIOR HALLWAYS MUST BE KEPT CLEAR AND OPERABLE FOR THOSE FLOORS WHERE CONSTRUCTION IS NOT ACTIVELY TAKING PLACE. 5. CONSTRUCTION STAGING AREA: ON-SITE CONSTRUCTION STAGING FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE EXTREMELY LIMITED. SHOULD THE CONTRACTOR REQUIRE ON-SITE CONSTRUCTION STAGING, AN AREA FOR THIS PURPOSE MAY BE PROVIDED. THE STAGING AREA IS INTENDED FOR THE STORAGE OF MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT ONLY. UNLESS DIRECTED OTHERWISE, THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO FENCE THE STAGING AREA TO PREVENT ACCESS FROM UNAUTHORIZED PERSONNEL. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE AREAS USED FOR CONSTRUCTION STAGING THAT ARE DAMAGED DURING THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS AS DIRECTED BY THE ARCHITECT PRIOR TO SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION. GENERAL SITE/ STAGING NOTES 1. THE INTENT OF THIS PROJECT IS TO RENOVATE INTERIOR SPACES AND LAYOUT IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHANGING USE PATTERNS BY THE OWNER. THIS PROJECT INCLUDES MULTIPLE DEPARTMENTS SPREAD OVER THE BUILDING AND MULTIPLE OCCUPANTS THAT MUST REMAIN IN PLACE AND IN SERVICE DURING THE PROJECT. 2. THE OWNER WILL OCCUPY PORTIONS OF THE BUILDING IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TO THE WORK AREA. WHILE IT IS UNDERSTOOD THERE WILL BE INTERRUPTIONS AND DISRUPTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH CONSTRUCTION WORK, GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL CONDUCT AND COORDINATE WORK ACTIVITIES TO MINIMIZE THOSE DISRUPTIONS AS MUCH AS PRACTICAL. 3. ITEMS INDICATED TO BE REMOVED AND SALVAGED REMAIN OWNER’S PROPERTY. CAREFULLY DETACH FROM EXISTING CONSTRUCTION, IN A MANNER TO PREVENT DAMAGE, AND DELIVER TO OWNER. IF DRAWINGS INDICATE ITEM IS TO BE REUSED, CAREFULLY INSTALL IN NEW LOCATION. 4. NEATLY CUT OPENINGS AND HOLES TO BE PLUMB, SQUARE, AND TRUE TO DIMENSIONS REQUIRED.
