Dear Bozeman City Commission,
We were disappointed to hear yesterday that the City Hall Community Gardens will now be
used as a construction site for the Merin SP project located at Lamme and North BozemanAvenue.
Dozens of local families have used these gardens to grow organic produce and they will now
but used as a construction yard. Additionally, we were informed that there is no guarantee thatthe gardens will ever be available again.
Unfortunately the citizens who lease these plots were not given a new place to garden. We've
put our name on the waiting list for another city plot but given the demand for city gardenplots, it's unlikely we'll be awarded a site this year.
Is the City going to lease this parcel to the developers? If so, these funds could be used to
create new garden plots at the city's two existing garden sites and accommodate the city'scommunity gardeners.
