MEETING MINUTES
Thursday, January 10, 2019 – 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM
City Hall, Commission Room, 121 N Rouse Ave
Attending: Kathy Powell (UNA), Ginny Cowan (BCNA), Lisa Prugh (Cooper Park), Suzanne Held
(NENA), Laurie McKinney (Marwyn/Lindley), Megan Stageman (Marwyn/Lindley), David

Elise Strong and Judy Locker from the Bozeman Beautification Advisory Board: attended the ethics
training
A. Call Meeting to Order – Kathy Powell called the meeting the order
B. Changes to the Agenda
Added the Community Resource Officer to introduce himself: Marek Ziegler, new Bozeman Police
Department Community Resource Officer, introduced himself. He has been with the police
department and is coming into a new role. We welcomed him.
C. Public Comment – there was no public comment
D. Approve Minutes – December 13, 2018 – David moved, Megan seconded and the minutes were
approved
Kathy later noticed a change to be made to the December meeting minutes. The meeting minutes
stated “On Dec. 3, parking ordinance changes went into effect.” The correction is that the parking
ordinance changes were provisionally approved at that point.
These meeting minutes were approved.
E. Commission Liaison Update – Commissioner Terry Cunningham

o First draft of the revised Downtown Plan has been released:
Next step: submit comments – January 18th
is when the comment period closes
o Other plans/assessments happening now:
Affordable Housing Needs Assessment
Community Plan
NCOD
There have been some recent city commission meetings/rulings related to higher density and
there are likely more to come
F. Neighborhoods Program Coordinator Update – Tanya Andreasen
Tanya is going to Fort Collins to learn about their university-neighborhood program
Tanya has been working with the MSU Dean of Students to put forward a request to the
university to develop a position that would be a counterpart to Tanya’s – could be called
something like Office of Off Campus Living
G. Neighborhoods Program Retreat Planning – Tanya Andreasen
There will be a retreat for INC representatives and neighborhood steering committee members
February 21st
from 4-8pm at the Story Mansion
H. INC Ethics Training – Tanya Andreasen
INC members went through a one-hour ethics training
