I’m writing to agree with the letter from Darryl Schlem our Chamber of Commerce CEO.
Please let’s start a real conversation about affordability. We can’t keep signing new bonds for open space and trails
and parks and on and on.
I just watched a special on the city of Seattle last evening. And the problem of affordability is nationwide. We can’t
assume we a right to what we want in housing automatically. We will have to make sone sacrifices and sometimes
settle for Jess in the meantime.
Owning a home is not for everybody. Some don’t want to own. Some don’t want to work hard enough for it. Others
just don’t have the resources, whether it be financial, educational, or otherwise.
Let’s be real about our conversations. And not just continue on this path of approving everything “open space”. And
put the costs on the backs of developers and citizens.
Please do not vote for more taxes.
By the way,
Sakes tax seems to be an option!
