HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-23-19 Correspondence - City Commission to County Commission - Request for Meeting BOZE MAN MT City Management October 23, 2019 Joe Skinner, Chair of the Gallatin County Commission Don Seifert, Gallatin County Commissioner Scott MacFarlane, Gallatin County Commissioner 311 West Main Bozeman, Montana 59715 Dear Chairman Skinner, Commissioner Seifert, and Commissioner MacFarlane, Bozeman and Gallatin County continue to be challenged with the pressures of growth. We must rely upon our ability to find common ground among the various interests that we have as two governing bodies representing both the urban and rural areas of the Gallatin Valley. The number of issues that we have in common is growing. Issues such as: • mental health and social service coordination, • affordable housing, • the work of the PCC(Planning Coordinating Committee) and the TCC(Transportation Coordinating Committee) in anticipation of establishing our area as an MPO for transportation management, • topics of joint interest to the City-County Public Health Board and the 911 Advisory Board, and coordination on the timing of ballot measures. These are just a few of the topics that could be discussed. The County Commission may also have areas of interest or concerns that warrant a face to face conversation with the City of Bozeman. The Bozeman Strategic Plan is a roadmap for our most important priorities, of which our relationship with Gallatin County is among those. As such, we respectfully request to hold a joint meeting with the County Commission in the first quarter of 2020. Please let the City Manager know of your interest and your availability in the coming months. Respectfully your ,/► C ynthia L. AndrLA, May r Chris Mehl, Deputy Mayor gauss, Commissioner I-Ho Pomeroy, Commissioner Terry Cun_ ngham, Commissioner Bozeman, MT 59771-1230 TDD: 406-582-2301 THE MOST LIVABLE PLACE.
