Subject:affordable living needs affordable transportation

Dear Commissioners,
Congratulations on your affordable housing plan.
I would like to remind all of you that affordable living has a big need for affordable alternative
transportation. A large portion of the people that need affordable housing can not afford toown or drive a car. They rely on biking and walking safely from home to work.
The Federal Highway Administration and the State of Montana no longer provides funding for
stand alone projects. Waiting 10 and 20 years to provide such amenities until a road isscheduled to be reconstructed is not a solution. Please start including the funding for such in
the CIP and City budget.
