My name is Bruce Tollefson, I live in the house directly south of proposed building.
I just got back from visiting the planning department to review the application for construction of residence at 535
Perkins.
Here are my concerns;
1. One parking space for a 2 bedroom house.
Perkins Place is tight as it is, the single lane does not allow for any on‐street parking, snow plows and garbage trucks
can’t get through if people park on city easement.
2. Application says Perkins Place is single lane paved, it is not paved in any way.
3. Perkins Place is a street, the architects keep referring to it being an alley, I don’t think it can be both. I agree that
residents on Church Street use it as their alley, but to all the people who live on Perkins Place it is a street and I think the
City of Bozeman has designated it as such.
4. I don’t see how anything could be built on this property without serious encroachment on Perkins Place during
construction. I didn’t see anything in the application that addresses the issue of construction vehicle parking, staging
areas for construction, etc. It is surrounded by private or city property.
5. Perkins Place cannot be shut down for a year while building is being constructed. There has to be some guidelines that
address the issue of construction parking and staging.
I am not opposed at all to having something done on that property but not without considerations given to the above
concerns.
Thank you for taking my concerns under advisement.
