My husband and I bought our house in 2014. Before buying, we performed our due diligence and
understood we would need to be repairing or replacing the septic system and what would need to
happen at the county level to make that happen.
In the last 6 years we have spent around$20,000 in improvements to our septic and well.This includes a
new tank for the house and a new tank for the shop that we built in the backyard a few year ago. At the
time, our contractor told us the drain field looks great and we should get many more years of use out of
it. We also installed a new well pump and bought a top of the line filtration system. As any guest in our
home will tell you,we have great water!
What this possible annexation means to our family is the equivalent of having to put another kid thru
day care. It means not replacing my husband's 14 year old work truck because that money will be paying
higher utility costs when we are sitting on 2 perfectly functioning systems that will have to be
abandoned. So not only will we have wasted the initial $20,000 investment, we have the huge increase
to our monthly costs.
We bought this home because it is affordable housing for us to be able to run our business out of our
home and shop. We are firmly opposed to resolution 5076.
