Subject:Proposed warming shelter at 3025 Westridge Drive

Dear Bozeman City Commissioners
This past weekend my family moved into our first home which is in the Figgins
neighborhood. On Monday we were welcomed to the neighborhood by some of our neighborswho shared information regarding the proposed shelter at 3025 Westride Drive. You can
imagine that this news was quite a surprise to us for many reasons. My family and Iunderstand the need for facilities that provide services to people in need, however an
appropriate location where these services are provided is important.
It is my understanding that the proposed location is within extremely close to Morning StarElementary School and that the home that the shelter is proposing to occupy borders sidewalks
and crosswalks that are a part of the route that children and parents use when walking toschool. By approving a special permit for the shelter, the city is creating safety risks for the
area residents which include many school children. Potential impacts to children in theFiggins and surrounding neighborhoods, the schools and other residents can not be ignored.
As a Bozeman resident I ask that you take into consideration the concerns I have for my
family and community when handling the application for special permit. The communityneeds to work together to find a better solution and a more appropriate location for the shelter-
-a location that is not in an R-1 zoned neighborhood.
Thank you,-Aaron Eidsness
