Hello,
I am writing a quick email just to voice my support that approval be given to the HRDC’s a
special use permit to use the home at the intersection of 3rd and Graf for a women, childrenand families. Our family lives at 3589 Stanford Dr, with kids walking to Morning Star and
SMS and we feel this is a totally appropriate and safe placement for this specific use. In fact,we are so embracing it that several friends and I went tonight to get trained so we can
volunteer as soon as doors are opened.
I would only voice concern that it be clear to the community that this would not be used bysingle men and that guests would wait for check in at another location and would have
transportation out in the morning. I was at the Warming Center on Industrial tonight and theenvironment outside the doors while men waited to enter would not be appropriate for a
residential neighborhood. I understand this use is not in the proposed special use permit, butthat may not be clear to those in opposition. They way I understand the intended use and daily
operations, I would not foresee any loitering, or walking to and from the home.
