Astrup - HRDC Warming Center SiteFrom:Nancy & Pete Astrup To:Sarah Rosenberg; Agenda Subject:HRDC homeless shelter at 3025 Westridge Date:Monday, November 04, 2019 4:47:59 PM I am writing to oppose the establishment of the homeless shelter at 3025 westridge. I live at 3005 Secor Ave and believe that the housing of up to 36 people in a home in thisneighorhood is a too significant departure from the area's R1 zoning designation. Judging by the way the HRDC went about their notifications to neighbors and their less than forthcomingpresentation of the project, they also have an idea of how inappropriate this shelter is in this neighborhood. The whole process of approving the project seems set up to fly under the radar with the lowbar for notifications to neighbors and the approval resting on a single person instead of a committee or commission of some kind. I think I understand the difficulty of finding a shelter in the Bozeman market but forcing thisproject onto this neighborhood instead of doing the hard work of finding a more appropriate location will cause more problems down the road than this quick but poor solution will solve. the mixing of two drastically different occupant densities into such close quarters would seem to insure problems requiring police intervention. Don't take the easy way out and give this project your approval. Let the HRDC find a bettersolution for the sake their own reputation and for this R1 neighborhood. Sincerely, Pete Astrup
