To whom it may concern,
I am writing this email in opposition to to the placement of a warming
center at 3025 Westridge Dr. I am concerned that the number of people
slated to utilize the location on a nightly basis far exceeds the
practical capacity of the building. I understand that the house was
previously divided into 9 separate rooms, however my understanding is
that there is upwards of 30 people slated to be in that space on any
given night and that does not seem safe.
I am also concerned that the location of the house, on a busy,
awkwardly laid out 3-4ish intersection presents an additional safety
concern due to the increased vehicle traffic that this center will
bring.
The suburban location of the proposed site does not provide adequate
access to public transportation or other facilities that users of the
facility could require.
I absolutely appreciate the good work that HRDC is looking to provide
and understand that there are not many other options available to
them. However, the location of 3025 Westridge Drive is not the
solution for a host of logistical reasons.
