Subject:Temporary Homeless shelter on Westridge - Concerns

To whom it may concern,
I honestly have had a tough time coming up with the best way to communicate my (and my
family's) concerns with the news that there may be a homeless shelter a short distance from
my house/back yard (against Graf - 200 feet from proposed location).
My empathy for the homeless and less fortunate is overwhelming - but there has to be a
different location that is better suited for a homeless shelter - to bus people back and forth
b/t here and there seems inefficient. My concern for the safety of those children and (my own
children) that walk to and from school (as there are no busses available) by the homeless
shelter is concerning. There is no fence around that house and barely a side walk.
I could go on and on and list a number of other concerns but I think you're all well aware of
the overwhelming list of Cons that have been brought to your attention already. My support
for HRDC and a warming center is overwhelming - it's just not quite the right location. I've now
lived in Bozeman for about 20 years and realize that the city is growing and with that comes
necessary changes - but this should not be one of them and would be the wrong decision that
could result in horrible consequences down the road to our youth.
Thank you and we hope that you take my opposition into account when making this final
decision.
Take care,
Alexis Dean
