Subject:Email Against Proposed HRDC Homeless Shelter at 3025 Westridge Drive

Hi,
Buying an expensive house in a prime Bozeman neighborhood to house homeless people is anill-thought out plan that misuses HRDC resources and abuses the trust that community
homeowners have put in the city of Bozeman.
As a homeowner, I have a reasonable expectation that living in an R-1 neighborhood that myneighbors will not be allowed to house 36 strangers in their home. I am deeply concerned that
making an exception to the R-1 zoning to allow up to 36 people to live in a single family homewill be damaging to the community. An extra 36 people with unstable housing situations is
going to increase crime, noise, and parking in the community. These effects would not betolerated if I, as a private home owner, decided to house 36 strangers. I fail to see why a local
non-profit should be an exception to this rule. The effect to the neighborhood is the exactsame.
Additionally, the HRDC has limited funds to run the warming shelter. Given the price
premium of south Bozeman, it's irresponsible of the HRDC to use those funds to buy anexpensive single-family house rather than finding a location which is more economical that
allows more homeless people to be sheltered.
Best Regards,
