Dear Chris. I am writing out of concern for the location HRDC has chosen in South Bozeman for their warming
center. I positively believe these services should be provided in our community, but I think the proposed location
carries too much risk. I would not argue if it was strictly women and children, but that is not the case and I have
many concerns about men visiting this shelter and this high traffic area for students and families.
I lived South of Jackson Creek for many years and one of our closest neighbors was a registered sex offender and in
our neighborhood (even with 1/2 mile between our 2 houses) he was inappropriate and threatening to me as a
woman and the worst part was that he did not have the social capacity to see how or why he was being
inappropriate. Even with police warning he did not stop his inappropriate antics. While I have not seen him lately,
he has been known to panhandle on the corners near Costco and 19th. If he is the type of man coming and going
from this neighborhood based shelter, I have great concern.
Please assist HRDC in finding a less risky location. Thank you for hearing our concerns.
