Very few people were notified (only those within 100 feet of the house) about the proposed warming shelter even though many more have a vested interest in what happens to the house given it's proximity to two schools. It seems to me that if a school is within 300 feet of such a major change, more parties should be notified, including the schools. I spoke with an elderly woman who lives across the street and three doors down from the house in question and she was shocked that she wasn't sent a letter or told about the proposed shelter.
