Ms. Garber,
I'm writing to file a formal complaint about the letter of intent for 80 long-term leases in theBridger Park Garage and the notice stating 0 parking associated with the project for the AC
Hotel. The application number is 19078.
To my understanding, the letter of intent did not go before the Bozeman Parking Commissionprior to being issued in August. Further, the BPC voted not to extend any more long term
leases in the garage effective the same month. Therefore, the letter of intent, which shouldhave never been issued, should have been rescinded upon passing of the resolution.
An 88,000+ square foot building with 143 guest rooms, a lounge, and a terrace should be
required to provide their own parking, and the BPC voted in agreement with this sentiment.
I'm a downtown homeowner and business owner and I know that our locals are what keepsbusinesses afloat when the tourists are gone. Having parking be bought out by large
hotels prevents those locals from finding parking spaces when they want to shop or dinedowntown. While I don't disagree that large hotels are good for downtown, they need to
provide their own parking spaces rather than leeching off the few that downtown employeesand customers have left.
