Hello, I am very concerned about the possibility of a warming center on Westridge Dr. Figgins is a family
neighborhood. I've lived on Westridge Dr. for the past 20 years and I've been so pleased that the
neighborhood is increasingly owner occupied by people who really care about their homes and their
neighbors. Many children live here, play outside, walk and ride their bikes to the 2 schools located close by
the proposed warming center location. We treasure the warmth of this neighborhood. We interact with
each other and care about what happens here.
I understand the need to help homeless folks, but this is not an appropriate location for a busy, transient,
high impact use of a residence. Up to 38 people living there? Come on. Figgins is a quiet, stable
neighborhood, as are Alder Creek and other subdivisions bordering South Third. We treasure the
friendships of long term neighbors. It doesn't make sense to have many many people being bused in and
out of this facility twice daily. Please consider the changes that this shelter would cause to this part of town.
I know the housing situation is difficult in Bozeman, but a warming center does not belong in a
neighborhood of single family homes. Please try to find someplace more suitable, instead of causing such
an impactful change to our neighborhood.
