HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-16-19 Protest - J. Wilshire - Bozeman Medical Arts Zone Map Amendment Sept. 16, 2019 Dear Commissioners, My name is Jennifer Wilshire and I own a physical therapy practice in the Medical Arts Building, 300 N Willson Ave. Infants, children with special needs, and people who use assistive devices such as wheelchairs and crutches are just a few examples of the population I see. I am writing in protest of the proposed re-zoning of the parking lot across the street from the building. I was at the Zoning Commission meeting 2 weeks ago and I heard the Comma-Q architects state that the space would remain a parking lot until 2025. If that is the case, why are they jumping through these hoops now? I also heard Chris Saunders state that if they were to build across the street, they were required to provide parking within 1000 feet of the Medical Arts building. That is 3 city blocks! My patients, as well as most others that utilize the services of the Medical building, cannot negotiate 3 blocks in the best of circumstances, let alone those during inclement weather or in the winter months. I respectfully request that you consider the ramifications to the citizens of Bozeman and their right to access their doctors with or without ADA accessibility. Please table this discussion and your decision until further evaluations and assessments can accurately determine the negative effects this constant unplanned and thoughtless growth has on the community. Growth that is being dictated by a 10 year old plan. Thank you in advance for your consideration, nnifer Wilshire, PT Jennifer Wilshire PT • 300 N.
