I discovered the current plan for the Cottonwood road improvement was to eleminate left hand turns at Classical Way. As I dropped my kids off at school I notice a couple of things and was curious as to the impact such a decision would have, and if studies were done. First it seems that having to turn right in would drive additional traffic thru the Meadowlark and Heritage school zones in the morning and Hyalite Elementary school zone in the afternoon noon, how will this impact the safety and security of these children? And commute time for all the effected families? The other question on my mind is future growth, not only does Classical way access the school during the week, but a healthy church on Sunday and the sports complex, a location for games tournaments and practices. Historical there is reason to believe each of these will increase traffic year after year as attendance grows. How long will this decision be feasible to maintain, and is it cost effective? Are there alternatives that would better support the increasing demand for access while also accomplishing your goals? I would be very interested in any impact studies done on this, if they are available. Thank you for the hard work and long hours you put in to making Bozeman a better place to live.
