I'm writing with regards to the Cottonwood project and in particular, the current plan to remove the
southbound left turn into Classical Way. I believe this plan could use improvement for the following reason:
- Many Petra families (and their cars) make the trip to Petra daily, and many of these same cars use the
southbound turn off of Cottonwood.
- The total numbers will increase along with the growth of the school.
- Car & drivers are like water, and when presented with an immovable object (in this case the lack of a left
turn), will take the most direct route possible around the obstruction.
- In this case, that will be traveling directly through Stafford/Bembrick/Eneboe Avenue, a neighborhood.
And if not this neighborhood, one of many others that are off Cottonwood.
- My guess is that this neighborhood is not prepared to handle the additional traffic they will receive, and
this will become a major safety issue for this neighborhood, and the city.
In order to mitigate this very real risk, I ask that you please consider changing your plans immediately.
