I will try to be brief so as not to take up more of your time than is necessary, yet I do feel strongly that this subject is weighty enough for me to voice my concern. In regards to the street work being done on Cottonwood (Between Durston and Babcock streets), I recently heard that there is not a left-turn lane being added in to aid the traffic flow into the soccer complex. This worries me considerably, not only as a mother of four young athletes, but also as a driver, citizen of Bozeman, and as a parent of children that attend Petra. My husband and I drive that route daily--2 to 3 times--and while we have put up with the massive potholes and current construction (we are so thankful it is finally getting fixed!!), I cannot fathom why the current road work wouldn't include turning lane??? There are SO many times that the current situation of NOT having a turning lane has created massive bottlenecks there, and with the new high school and the amount of traffic on cottonwood tripling (if not more), I fear that not addressing that situation and adding a left-hand turning lane Now will only be borrowing trouble for tomorrow. Add high school aged drivers and traffic for sporting events to the equation and it sounds like a living nightmare. Please! Please, re-assess the work you are doing there asap, and if there is any way possible for you to add a turning lane to the work being done now, I do believe (I'm willing to bet on it, though I'm not a gambler!) you will be thanking yourself within the year. And also for years to come. I do appreciate your careful consideration and hope you will re-assess the current work being done on Cottonwood. Thank you. Gratefully, Shannon (and Mike) Woodberry Attachments (optional) Thank you, City Of Bozeman This is an automated message generated by the Vision Content Management Systemâ„¢.
