Aloha Chris,
Your sensible eye for beauty and practicality tonight would come in very handy .
Our project THE PARKLANDS, is first on the agenda and we are almost 100 percent pleased with the staff report
and engineering suggestions —EXCEPT, our traffic engineers do not concur with engineer , Griffin Neilsen’s
suggestion of eliminating our lively cul de sac and replacing it with a T BONE intersection , which may someday
hook up to Front Street extended..
Today I was AOK with this T BONE intersection, until I went to the site and noticed that the entire grove of 30 foot
tall aspen and birch trees would have to be cut down and eliminated forever .. Presently, this mini forest of trees
serve as a beautiful visual block to the rather ugly industrial rail road and trains stopping on the other side to the
north ..
If we do as the City engineers suggest, we will no enhance safety (per our engineers letter) but will surely destroy
this rather lush beautiful forest forever..
This is not a money issues but a practical beauty enhancing issue, which sadly , most engineers , are not schooled in
preservation..
Sincerely ,
Michael Delaney
